Salmon in the Classroom

2009/10 Salmon in the Classroom - Updates

Rodney Pierson's 7th grade class at Sashabaw Middle School in Clarkston, Mi.

2/11/2010 Update: We are proud to say that we have about 100 healthly looking fish. It is amazing watching them grow, and the students have enjoyed caring for them. We had a few ups and downs, but once things settled in, they have done well. Pictures to follow soon.

Gail Miller's 8th grade class at Scripps Middle School in Lake Orion, Mi.

2/12/2010 Update: Scripps, 8th grade Earth Science class of G. Miller. Reliable student, Bryan M. has been in charge of testing for ammonia. At his reccommendation, we change 25% of the water every two days. We have the water-system down to an art, 15 minutes. As they get bigger, we may change the water every day. The fish are currently 2". We started with 200 eggs and we estimate about 60 healthy fish remaining. We are working on setting up a web-cam. We will call it the "sam-cam". More details soon......
