CVTU 2009 Projects
This year one of the major goals of the chapter is to have more river clean ups and conservation projects throughout the spring, summer and fall. The board members have been busy planning such events and mostplans still need to be finalized before we announce them to the general membership. However if you have an idea for such a project or area to work on throughout the Clinton River watershed, then please let a CVTU board member know. Our contact information can be found on this web site.
The first event we are announcing for the season is a river clean up that will take place on the Paint Creek, mostly likely in the Lake Orion/Rochester Hills area. We are working on finalizing the location because we need to get the proper permissions to do the clean up on a certain site CVTU thinks that needs attention.
The clean up will be on Saturday June 13th, so please mark your calendars today. The great thing about this date is it in the National TU 50th Anniversary River Clean Up day and CRWC River Day. We are still investigating the details, but our chapter could win some awards from National TU based on our volunteer and clean up efforts. So please come support us in this event. You can sign up for the event on this web site using our "Volunteer" page or you can contact CVTU River Clean Up Committee Chairman Carl Maldonado.
